Athletics Day 2018

Today we had our Southern Bay of Islands inter-school Athletics day. We went on the bus to Bledisloe Domain.

Health (asthma show)

Asthma Show

Today Chris from the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation NZ came to teach us about asthma. One in every seven people in New Zealand is effected by asthma.

Ariana, Ilha and Matiu helped Chris in the show.

We learnt that six things can trigger asthma (cold air, dust mites, animal fur, viruses, smoke and pollen).

Paihia School's Pet Day

On Friday we had our annual School Pet Day

In Te Awa we decorated Gingerbread men (after reading lots of versions of the story. We also made Vaseline saucers and sand saucers. We had to really concentrate to create repeating patterns using different colours of flower petals.

I made a Gingerbread Man and a sand saucer. It looked cool. It was so cool to me. I liked my Gingerbread Man. I think that it was cool.

Today we read the story "The Gingerbread Man". Then we measured, mixed, cooked and decorated our own Gingerbread men. They were delicious!
