Today we did "brick club" work. We worked in groups of three. One person was the engineer, one person was the supplier and one person was the builder. We had to use lots of maths language to describe each lego piece and where it needed to go.

Science (the water cycle)
We have been learning about rain clouds and the water cycle.
The earth's water cycle pulls water from the ground, rivers, oceans, lakes, and streams up into the sky. This is called evaporation. When the clouds become too heavy or full, and when other things happen with the wind and air in the atmosphere, gravity causes the rain to fall from the sky.

Maths (Ice cream survey)
Last week we were learning about the letter i. We had ice creams on Friday. But before we had ice cream we had to find out which flavour was the most popular in our class.
Strawberry was the most popular flavour.

Maths (dice survey)
Today Reti, Marcus and Ripeka had a dice survey for maths. They used clip boards and a survey sheet. It was a lot of fun and everyone got very quick at recognising numbers on a dice.
